Lesson 3

Learning About Worship From Cain, Abel & Noah

In progress

Gen 4:1–5; 6:1–22 · ESV for Scripture quotes

In this lesson

Both Cain and Abel worshiped—yet God did not regard Cain’s offering. From the beginning, worship can be sincere in human eyes and still rejected by God. Nadab and Abihu later show how seriously God treats unauthorized worship details.

Noah’s ark instructions were specific. The handout asks whether changing those details would have pleased God—and whether we know the apostles’ pattern of worship with the same care. Acceptable worship follows what God has said, not what we invent.
