Lesson 10
How Bible Christians Worshiped
In progress
Acts 2:42–47 · ESV for Scripture quotes
In this lesson
Paul taught the same things in every church (1 Corinthians 4:17). Bible Christians were called Christians and churches of Christ—not denominational brand names. Local churches were led by elders (and served by deacons), not popes or boards.
They devoted themselves to the apostles’ teaching, fellowship, the breaking of bread, and prayers. The Lord’s supper was on the first day of the week. Giving was freewill, not a mandated tithe text for the church. Music was singing from the heart (Ephesians 5:19; Colossians 3:16).
