Lesson 6
The New Testament Comes And The Old Testament Is Abolished
In progress
Heb 8:1–13 · ESV for Scripture quotes
In this lesson
A covenant is a contract. The Old Covenant was made with Israel in Moses’ day—not with the whole world. It included religious and civil laws, including the Ten Commandments as part of that covenant with Israel.
Jeremiah promised a new covenant. Hebrews 8 teaches that the old has become obsolete. Worship laws for today are found in the New Covenant—not by importing Old Covenant priesthood, incense, tithing, or Sabbath as binding patterns for the church.
